Cisco's 'Smart' Move in Jaipur
The Jaipur plan is a win for US-based company Cisco as it hopes to leverage its global experience of working on almost 90 smart city projects to convince the Government of India and various states of its credentials.
“Cisco is playing a role of technology adviser to JDA. The announcement that you saw on Thursday is the first showcase and it's one of the first state capitals that is going ahead and doing this. We have began with four applications; one is wi-fi. We have done information kiosk. There is environmental sensors and their intelligent safety and surveillance system that has been deployed,” Purushottam Kaushik, MD sales growth verticals, Cisco India & SAARC.
